Indiana University Health Physicians has an employment opportunity for an Adult Congenital Cardiologist to expand their growing Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana

Program Details:

The Krannert Institute is well-known for research in cardiology, including being majorly responsible for developing the fields of echocardiography and electrophysiology.  IU School of Medicine is the largest medical school in the United States, graduating more than 300 medical students yearly, and is the only allopathic medical school in Indiana.

The ACHD program has over 1000 ACHD annual clinic visits, and is under the leadership of a program director who is dual-boarded in adult and pediatric cardiology.  An additional ACHD board-certified adult cardiologist and senior pediatric cardiologists are available to assist with management of the patients.  IU Health offers a full spectrum of cardiovascular services (adult and pediatric) including cardiac MRI, cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac transplantation, pulmonary hypertension, and mechanical device implantation.  Our team performed over 50 ACHD  surgical procedures yearly, and we partner closely with four congenital heart surgeons, two pediatric interventionalists, and a robust adult structural interventional team.  IU Health is one of a small handful of centers to have successfully implanted a ventricular assist device in a systemic right ventricle.

Patient care will occur primarily at IU Health Methodist Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, but will also occur at affiliated outreach sites throughout the state of Indiana.
